To catch summertime melancholy musically as a form of art

Inspired by the Indian Summer Soul in this amazing image of Photographer Sofie Vosk, I recorded a gloomy soundtrack for the imaginary story behind it. The album catches summertime melancholy in 8 neoclassical piano pieces with gloomy arrangements. As these piano compositions are very personal my birth name Tomas Johan Kristian became part of the creation. All tracks are recorded at the Suntapes studio on a 1881 Bechstein Grand piano with close miking techniques, including it’s wooden creaking sounds and felt sounds. Mastered by Studio Henri.

The first single Somersault is the mellow soundtrack for a daydreaming moment on a summers day by the lake. The track has been added to popular Spotify editorial playlists such as Not Quite Classical and Classical New Releases. The track Smooth Sailing has been added to the Spotify editorial playlist The Listening Room. All three playlists contain a lot of other inspirational music to feed the soul.

Although each track on the album has it’s own story and experimental recording techniques, The Jasmins, Wait until June and After a short While also grab the mellow NeoClassical vibe of the 2 singles. Lake dweller on the other hand captures the gloomy and mysterious vibe of a long walk during the darkening hours by the lake. Sunday Distance and Owl are somehow darker and reflecting moments at night.

The Album is available on all platforms (Release date: June 10th 2022)
